Enrollment Process
Due to limited enrollment availability at Pend Oreille River School, it is important that the students who are enrolled are truly in need of the services offered and the structure of the alternative program. At this time, our school is structured for juniors and seniors only.
Students must be in need of some, or all, of the following services in order to enroll at Pend Oreille River School.
- Smaller learning environment
- A more personalized course of study
- Schedule flexibility due to student’s employment or other valid reason
- Mental and emotional health support
- Credit recovery
Applicants may be referred by themselves, a school professional, or a parent/guardian. Students transferring from the high school must wait until the end of the trimester to transfer. All interested students must first complete a student application. Complete the application to the right if interested.

What happens next:
Once the application is received, the student’s transcript, application, and input from staff working with the student are reviewed and discussed in a team meeting.
Those students deemed most appropriate for the program are enrolled, while others remain on a waiting list. A staff member will be in contact with you to communicate the team’s decision.
